Meet Margaux: Hi! I am Margaux Blau, a Licensed Master of Social Work. I received my
undergraduate degree in French from The Catholic University of America, and my graduate degree in Social Work from The University of Maryland Baltimore School of Social Work. I have worked in client advocacy and non profit related settings since 2017, and I have been practicing psychotherapy since 2020.
My Therapy Interests:
I enjoy working with adolescents and adults experiencing challenges with:
- Trauma & PTSD
- Life Transitions
- Relationship Issues
I have a particular interest in working with chronic health issues, particularly womxn’s pelvic health. I am LGBTQ affirmative and welcome clients from all cultural backgrounds and identities.
What drew me to this work: I was drawn to this work from a young age as I was raised by a social worker who imparted a sense of connection to all, and the belief that everyone is deserving of compassion and healing. I have also experienced the benefits of a supportive therapeutic environment which has allowed for corrective experiences and growth.
My style: Warm, authentic, engaged, and relational. I am compassionate, affirming, and non-judgemental. My approach is trauma informed, which can help me understand the origin of the challenges you may be facing. I work to develop an environment where it is safe to slow down and explore thoughts, feelings, behaviors. I have an interest in mindfulness-based therapies as well as guided imagery, all of which can help us reach greater attunement with our bodies and provide relief. Through these practices and our work together, I believe healing is possible.
Services I offer: Individual, Couples, and Family Therapy
