Meet Gabby: Hello! I am Gabriela Rios-Martinez, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor. Feel free to call me by my nickname, Gabby. I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology and my graduate degree in Counseling at Johns Hopkins University. I have been working in the field of mental health since 2017, and practicing psychotherapy since 2020.
My Therapy Interests:
I enjoy working with preteens, teens, and adults ages 11+ experiencing challenges with:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- ADHD Challenges
- Life Transitions
- Identity Issues
- Relationship Issues
I have a particular interest in working with LGTBQ+ or queer identified individuals, and I favor treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy, internal systems therapy, and positive psychology. I also encourage discussions about social justice issues within the context of our own emotional development.
What drew me to this work: I chose to become a mental health professional because I wanted to influence the lives of others in a positive way and support them in their success. I strive to provide a supportive and warm environment so that you can learn about yourself and grow into the person that you want to be. Once we understand ourselves better, we can choose to live more mindfully, purposefully, and to become happier and more fulfilled.
My style: Empathetic, non-judgmental, compassionate,self-exploration focused
Services I Offer: Individual, Couples, and Family Therapy
Gabriela accepts Blue Cross/Blue Shield (Anthem, Carefirst, Highmark).
